Bijin Krishna is a 2012 batch IAS officer, currently serving as the Commisioner, Howrah Municipal Corporation. An Engineer by education, Bijin has his roots in Kozhikode, Kerala. His active support and guidance to KKS in it’s various activities/ventures had been a crucial factor in the KKS success story.
The Managing Trustee and Founder Secretary of KKS, TKG is an educationist and businessman. He is the Trustee and CEO of Satikanta Guha Foundation, which has set up and manages educational institutions in West Bengal. He has been in the forefront of socio-cultural activities for the last four decades. He has earlier served as the Joint Secretary, Secretary and Vice President of Calcutta Malayalee Samajam. He was behind the initiative to form the Pravasi wing of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy (East Zone) and was it’s Eastern Regional Convenor for the first three years.
A multifaceted personality, Venu Kolkata or “Venuvettan” for most of those who know him, is an artist first and a businessman next. Music – Vocal and Instrumental, Drama – acting and direction, there are not many areas where he has not made a mark. The Co-founder and first President of KKS, he has earlier served as the Secretary and President of Calcutta Malayalee Samajam. He has been active in the field of art and culture for almost half a century.
A successful businessman with humble beginnings after he first came to Kolkata at the age of 18 to pursue graduation at Calcutta University, Sri Rajeev Nair or “Hari” as he is better known among friends, today owns multiple business ventures including the largest commercial LPG distribution for Indianoil in Eastern India and dealerships in Rubber and Polymer Products. Apart from being the Trustee and Co-founder of KKS, he is a member of other cultural organizations including Calcutta Nair Service Society for the last many years. He is a very active philanthropist as well. He is the Managing Trustee of “Snehalia’, a home for destitute young boys, which provides them with care, food, clothing, accommodation and education. He is also a life member of Indian Life Saving Society and MILT, Kolkata Chapter.
Sri M C K Menon is the “go-to” person for all at KKS whenever an event or programme is to be organized. Meticulous with his planning and committed to executing them, he handles all the publicity related matters including social media and other campaigns for KKS. With close to four decades of active social life behind him, he has been an active member and office-bearer of Calcutta Malayalaee Samajam for a long time. His many years of professional experience as an administrator helps the KKS Team in managing its events efficiently.
A writer who needs no introduction to malayalees, KKS is lucky to have Susmesh donning the role of a Creative Coordinator and Mentor to all our talented youngsters. Most of his time in Kolkata is spent on helping/guiding the KKS Team in it’s cultural and literary programmes/initiatives apart from coordinating with organizations like Kerala Sahitya Academy and literary personalities in Kerala. Without his contributions, right from the day of inception, KKS could not have achieved what it could in a very short span of time.
