KKS celebrates Onam and 5th Anniversary

Kolkata Kairali Samajam celebrated Onam and it’s fifth anniversary at Sarat Sadan, Behala on 1st September. The formal inauguration of the day’s proceedings was done by Dr.Subramanyan, Director, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata. Kerala Sahithya Academy award winning writer E. Santhosh Kumar, the Chief Guest at the function, addressed the gathering. The working report for the previous year was presented as a Video presentation. The special report on the Flood Relief work taken up by KKS during the natural calamity of 2018 in Kerala was also presented. Mr. Suthan Bhaskaran, Secretary, presided over the function. The cultural programmes included “Kaikottikkali”, by the KKS Ladies wing. A musical night led by well known singers Edappal Vishwanath and Roshni from Kerala followed making it a sumptuous Onam feast. Mr. T K Gopalan, Managing Trustee, KKS announced a social welfare scheme for the benefit of malayalee community in Kolkata at the event. Onam is a good ten days away, but the Kolkata malayalee community was basking in the festivities well ahead of their home State Kerala.
